I realy dont get the point why make the bloody game Cossakas if you just reopened , Jesus Crist it will shut you down for good , on the Stalker side you have a shitload of people just despretly waiting for Stalker , instead you focus on a thing that wont get you even 1000 dollars . So please Focus on Stalker because its the right thing to do !!!

Well they ain't stupid. They know better than us how their situation looks like. The are fully aware of the Stalker fanbase, but also you need to take into account the Cossacks franchise has also sold really well. In fact, in the east it was more popular than Age of Empires. Also, the amount of time and resources to develop a RTS game is considerably smaller compared to an RPG with the depth of a Stalker sequel.

They might as well release a Cossacks game to boost their finances, and then once restablished a solid foundation of good programmers, start working on Stalker 2. It's a possibility.

EDIT.: On a side note, I believe this was posted in the wrong forum section.

They will carry foward with Stalker 2 if they feel they're ready. Stalker has become somewhat a masterpiece on it's own right. Releasing a subpar sequel will only diminish what they have achieved with previous titles.

That's the same issue faced by other companies that released memorable titles, such as Half Life or Alan Wake.

Cossacks is a popular game so it makes sense. Plus if everyone supports the game GSC will have more money to spend in the development of STALKER 2.

From what I've read Cossacks will be a cheaper, easier to make title.
