I still have not found a use for a tablet.

---END QUOTATION---

When I bought mine in 2012, it was one of the first ones in the 7 inch
size which can be comfortably held in one hand unlike the larger and
unwieldy 10 inch size. As phones were generally still in the 3 to 4 inch
range at the time, it was more relevant than they are today with phones
more common in the 5 to 6 inch range. What it excels at is being an
e-reader. Books and magazines are a pleasure to read over using a
phone, are more convenient than carrying around a dozen or more
books and/or magazines and are easier to hold laying down or on your
side if you like to read in bed than dealing with a spine of a book. As
I still love physical copies of media, I haven't totally switched over but
a tablet serves well as digital music has replaced records, tapes and CDs.

Tablets are good for lying in bed and reading something, shopping online, or browsing the internet.

Smart Phones ( today's hand held computers )

I was reading an article about some new Smart Phones and old ones
being re-released when I suddenly remembered I created this post 2
years ago. The funny thing is, I still have the same Smart Phone that
I posted about in 2015 now in May of 2017. Why? Simply put no one
has made anything better. A few have come close but the reputation
of my phone has grown and the Google Nexus 6 is still the greatest.

Articles I was reading:

Moto Z2 Play Confirmed To Have 3,000 mAh Battery By Lenovo - See more at: http://www.techtimes.com/articles/207934/20170522/moto-z2-play-confirmed-to-have-3-000-mah-battery-by-lenovo.htm#sthash.T0jDg1ZM.dpuf

What I still own:
https://www.cnet.com/products/google-nexus-6-review/

http://www.techradar.com/reviews/phones/google-nexus-6-1271190/review

People initially complained about the large size but years later it's the
biggest reason why owners don't want to downsize to something smaller.

What do other people here currently own now?

got me a Sony Ericsson W595 - it does have internet, I think... just not very useful...

http://www.gsmarena.com/sony_ericsson_w595-2469.php

but, on the other hand - I got me a compass for my key-chain, so I don't really need much else

(I just can't get used to smart-phones; been out of the loop for too long and I'm too stubborn to be willing of adapting to button-less technology)

:edit

scratch that - said W595 died few hours after I wrote this... back to Nokia 150 (which isn't bad - it's got mp3, camera, USB and a flashlight! )

Lord_Santa

Cool link. I found mine:
http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_nexus_6-6604.php

I use my phone mostly for internet on the go. Facebook, GSC Forums,
Reddit, various news sites. Plays Music, Texting and other stuff. I
would say the least feature I use it for is talking to people.

Sorry to hear about your phone but good you have a backup.

Probably the best thing that has happened with my carrier is that I
am now allowed to buy any unlocked phone ( as long as it is GSM )
and bring it to them for service. That's how I ended up buying the
Google Motorola Nexus 6. That got replaced with the Google Huawei
Nexus 6P ( not as large ) and the current model, the Google Pixel,
which also comes in a Pixel XL ( larger ) that are made by HTC.

I was somewhat interested in this phone when it was first announced
and it was only available in the UK initially. It didn't get good reviews:

I'm really surprised more people here are not really into phones. I
mean they are like little computers and you can play games on them.
I even have a 2012 Nexus 7 tablet that I played some on. However
since it's screen size was 7" and my phone at the time about 4.5", once
I upgrade to larger phone sizes, I have a 6" now, it became less a big deal.
I wonder if people outside of the USA have crappy, really expensive cell
phone providers with bad plans who charge too much for web browsing
being the reason people don't care or invest in having/wanting the latest?

My phone is supposed to stop getting support from Google at the end of
this year. I guess that means security updates and the such. Other Apps
can still continue to get updates but I certainly won't get any newer versions
of Android after that time. I guess I'll keep using it until catastrophic failure.

don't know 'bout the rest of the world, but in Sweden it's just... everyone and their dogs has internetz and smartphones:

http://www.soi2015.se/the-swedes-and-the-internet-2015-summary/

http://www.internetworldstats.com/eu/se.htm

https://www.budde.com.au/Research/Sweden-Mobile-Infrastructure-Broadband-Operators-Statistics-and-Analyses

we (Swedes) are some of the worst people in the world when it comes to buying the latest/newest/most expensive phone(s) on the market for everyone and said dogs... I suspect it's 'cause our economy been flourishing for some time (for those who's got the moneys at least) and most importantly we've got internet for basically everyone...

... and on a lighter note, I got mah W595 up and running again! HUZZAH!

but, I have found two uses for the smart-phone - one is trying to learn Polish (extended family) and the other is snap-chat with my sister who lives abroad - just as means of sending a picture every once in a while, as means of keeping up-to-date in our daily lives - I highly approve

apart from that - it stays at home, ain't got no use for a touchy-screen when I'm out climbing/trekking in the woods - need sturdy quality with buttons that can handle a few beatings and a little mud.
