I wanted to play it, but then Pillars of Eternity came out.

Don~

You're missing a really good Game. Imagine struggling through a blizzard and
desperately seeking shelter to finally come upon a cabin flying the Maple flag.

There was a new update that vastly increased the size and depth of the
transition area between Mystery Lake and Coastal Highway. It's huge
and has several caves, it's own wildlife and it's easy to get lost in it.

I wish the graphics were less artsy and more Stalker like. Other than that I gotta try this some time. Do they bother you much TS?

This game sucks!!!
You don't have the option to save when and where you want to;
if you die during gameplay, you can't load a previous save, you have to restart the game from the very beginning.

Kane~

I kind of like the artsy and cartoonish nature of the Game. It reminds
me of one of my favorite classic games from 1997 LucasArts "Outlaws"
that was a first person shooter set in the American Old West. Not every
game needs to have photo-realism type environment to work. Since the
Game is primarily set in the environment of northern Canada, and it's
snow everywhere, I agree with the type of artwork to depict all that.

Grunter_Hunter~

There's no Zombies or mutants. No enemies to fight in gun battles.
As a Survival Game, the primary method of struggle is to survive. The
punishment for failure is to have to start over again. I admit I died a few
times quite early but it was due to lack of knowledge about the Game. I
froze to death in a cave during a snowstorm after 9 days. Later as I had
played more I realized I could have foraged for wood to make a fire. I
could have repaired my clothes to keep them in better condition. It was
my fault so to speak. If I had a manual save to go back to I would have
kept playing as before and not forced to learn from my mistakes. While
it may anger some people I can appreciate this method. As far as any
self-created save goes, they happen whenever you enter a building or
go to sleep. If you leave a building and go forth and don't like how
things are going you can exit the game and it will return you to your
last save. However you must do this before you are attacked by an
animal, fall off a cliff or any other circumstances of instant death.

Cool. Then this game also needs bandits, slender man and other evil things. Surviving is cool, but there needs to be some other mortal danger and gun fights.

From what I've read there are plans to add other AI survivors at some point. Having other people in the same situation as the player with unpredictable motivations is what I'd really like to see. They could be friendlies or neutrals who ask the player to join up or trade supplies, or maybe instead they just open fire on sight or even attempt to trick the player into letting their guard down before moving in for the kill. Hopefully someday a game in the survival genre will truly get this sort of thing right.

You can equip a gun. However the game is lacking the ability to hold
the hatchet, knife and crowbar. It would suck if they had a gun and
you did not. All you could do was run away and get shot in the back.
I'm hoping they will enable the Player to hold other inventory objects.

Yeah, I imagine that NPC survivors would be very difficult to implement without drastically changing the balance of the existing game (which is likely why the Project Zomboid devs have been promising them for years now and still haven't delivered). It wouldn't be very fun to lose hours of progress just because you hadn't found a gun yet. I still haven't tried The Long Dark yet (though I will soon), but it seems like any added human NPC encounters should be few and far between.

Still, if you were caught unarmed by a hostile NPC with a gun and had the ability to bargain for your life by offering to lead them to your stash (and could lead them into a trap instead), that would be pretty rad.

Each word should be at least 3 characters long.
