I don't think the technology is there yet, Once they can sit you down in a room with no headset and run VR it might but for now the only way I'd like to use it is with racing games like Assetto Corsa, Project cars, Gran Turisom and Forza.

Sat in a bucket seat with buttkickers, Steering wheel, pedals, gearstick and a headset acting like a crash helmet might be the best case scenario, Space sims like Elite Dangerous and Star citizen is another.

Other than that I don't think I'd want to wear a headset, I'd like to try a few things with it but I'm not willing to bankrupt myself to do so.

Not really sure where to put this but I didn't want to create a new thread:

Start an actual VR thread with the E3 2017 game announcement news, There'll be plenty of non STALKER VR news in the coming years.

I think the industry is strangling VR to death, The initial cost of the headsets is too much for most of us and now we have people like Bethesda making seperate versions of games like Fallout 4 and charging full price for them.
Why they think someone would pay for a game they've more than likely already got a second time is beyond me, Especially a game l;ike Fallout 4 where the modders will undoubtedly provide a VR mod for the base game. Unless of course Bethesda turn round and block it.

this unfortunately I believe is but one of the many issues with Virtual Reality - there's no applicable areas for it, in terms of gaming - unless you count games where you sit down in a locked-in position; and as such the industry need to come up with new innovative ways to take advantage of this technology

all-in-all VR has little to no use for gamers, but maybe for 'training-simulators' of various kinds in various fields of expertise, as per example the surgeon-simulator (just more advanced and refined to be utilized by professionals)

apart from that Virtual Reality is trying to fill a gap, which didn't exist in the first place - and its only excuse for existence is a false promise of something greater - either you give me Lawnmower Man VR, or you give me a Holodeck - anything in-between has way too limited an appeal and is just a waste of money.

Yes, I can't imagine myself sitting in a chair in front of my PC frantically
flapping my arms about or trying to run in place to simulate my actions.

Lord_Santa~

I admit this sounds tempting from a hardware perspective but other
than being able to see the VR reality world, it always come back to
the horrible floating hands I see in Games. Also realizing that the
majority of the Games I like ( first person shooters ) are not the
primary focus of what most Gaming studios want to do with it.

To me the advantage with VR would be the peripheral vision (similar to but better than using a huge monitor). Moving the whole body might be fun if you wear a VR helmet on a dance floor, or when playing paintball, but perhaps not in your own house.
