Yup, that's very true. Sometimes I'm just too lazy to look for the DVD/CD.

This is where Steam comes in though... My Steam games don't need any DVDs or CDs, I just log in (Offline Mode if I don't have an internet connection) and I can play with a click of a button.

Yup, they should give "rewards" to legit copies buyers instead giving they unnecesary troubles. Exclusive maps, weapons, quests, etc by registring a code printed in the box or something that cannot be obtainable by keygens.

I purchased some years ago a clipart CD and the installer asked me to enter 3 random words from the sleeve text in a specific order (i.e, third word from the 2nd pharagraph, etc). Pretty original, I think

haha sorry for my english...i'm half-sleep

Concerning the movement of characters, will they be always like stone ? Because when i was playing in multiplayer, when i was on the roof, i'm falling like a stone ! There is no possibility to make some jumps or to walk correctly on the roofs.

Anything worth knowing about the game itself or is he only talking about drm ? Btw, somebody mentioned The Witcher 2, not only is the game drm free but each patch comes with additional free DLC's. They're prepairing the release of TW Version 2.00 which will bring an Arena mode plus lots of new stuff, available for free for owners of the original game. And they're working on an XBox version to be released Q1 next year. The Xbox game won't be a port but an "adaptation". Many CGI sequences in the works (the PC version had animations done with the game engine). And they promised that if they include new stuff into the XBox version they will also release it as a free patch for PC. Did I mention the polish developer, CDPR, is gaining a cult status and a rabid fanbase thanks to it's policy?

Nothing about the game itself. GSC is being as tight-lipped as ever. I liked it more before when they were open about their plans, even if they did not end up delivering everything.

This.

I know it always got our hopes up, a bit excessively, but it was good to see what they had in mind, and kept the excitement going.

They are gonna save on advertising. It's clear. But I can't get, why they don't inform the stalker community on how the project goes. They always neglect the community, though.
I think, it could be a sort of advertising, too - if people don't have any info from devs, they get more excited and interested in the project.

I think it's just a bad PR strategy but since there's isn't much competition in the CIS, gaming industry wise, and since GSC has this huge cult following they can get away with poor PR. But neglecting the international gaming community like the're used to do is becoming just unexcusable. All they need is one charismatic spokesperson who knows english to keep us all happy. That is, till the XBox crowd gets interested in the game, they will need to put much more effort into PR stuff once the console fans start playing Stalker or it will be a huge flop.

I will be interested to see there next move when this happens, Will they suddenly provide a wealth of information for the console users after having the attitude that us Pc'ers are hooked and they do not need to make an effort on our behalf. I mean are they sat there now thinking why bother there not going anywhere.
