ALSO. Extra note for COD. COD developers went through steam as an Antipiracy measure, Steam is THE best Anti piracy platform, it isn't unreasonable, or anything like that, you can then Acess your games ANYWHERE all you need is a internet connection, hell not even that unless you wanna download, hence the reason steam has offline mode.

Steam nor Valve Own or partake in COD series as you'd note, they merely host a platform for you to game from for that game.

dont get ,e started on hackers and @#$%.

PB isnt fool proof, and certanly not steam anti hack programes.

its a joke out there in MP land.

I own MW2....I know how it works, you obviously didn't read what I said fully, or you didn't understand.

COD MW2 runs through steam, as a way of stoping Piracy, not that it did, it doesn't hinder you. Whats so hard about it, besides, it hosts THOUSANDS of the most classic games, cleans them up, fixes them personally etc etc etc.

I had the same mentality of steam. But because of the excellent service they provide they turned me around.

naw mate, they stuffed up, by removing the ability to host servers, then they lied to competitive gamers(my self) and game server providers lost lots of money ect.

and, i had to wait avarage 20mins on most days to get into a 6 V 6 game

nope stuff that, so i play BFBC2 and build my skills playing hackers, i love getting top spot when theres hackers on.

steam is like a credit card, easy fast, and all the @#$% with it.

not my style. and a warning, all will be like CoD MW2.

Let's look at valve games. Graphics: S*** (Normally I won't pull the graphics argument, but come on! The games look horrible!) Gameplay:S*** (The game makes fun of itself. Instruments are not murder weapons, Asian women are not guniea pigs, Cake isn't a reason to listen to a voice) And immersion: S*** (The other reasons go against the idea of immersion)

I fully agree that the gaming industry is going to Pot, but Steam and Valve in themselves aren't complete assholes, Ok maybe in some senses, but not 100%

Maybe something will change sometime soon? What does everyone else think?

Well, i was like you, i hated Steam since introducing themselves inbetween CounterStrike, at v0.6 i think.

then CoD i used steam, cause game clan was, i was captain and all that stuff, so i had to buy it, bang steam version. then i started likeing it, untill, 5 min became 10min, then 10 min 20. and the hacks, lol.
and i started likeing it myself, i wasnt buying games on it tho, i would buy norm, then add it to steam system. ect.

but, then i see them slacking in the non-steam releases, to boost them.

in my conclusion, its a prfect idea and game link port. but, it needs to be flawless to bring me back in steam, maybe 10 years, lol.

You guys are crazy. I know I can't change anyone's opinions, but Valve is my favorite game company. They're second only to GSC as pioneers of interactive storytelling. Everything they make oozes creativity and polish. They keep in touch with their audience and know them well (just read their TF2 blogs and comics and you'll know what I mean). They've revolutionized the way business is done in PC gaming. Their innovations and risks with Steam have kept a huge portion of the pc game market from going under and handing almost complete domination over to consoles, even increasing accessibility and success in the market for indy game devs, and they're the only major developer that still swears by and creates for PC first and console second. If nothing else, I'm sure GSC has made lots of money by selling through Steam that they wouldn't have otherwise.

I went to an EB Games looking for a PC game, the guy who worked there told me that they stopped buying PC games and that if PC gamers have a problem with that call steam and complain to them about the industry falling apart.

And then they merged with Gamestop and now they are selling entire shelves of Starcraft 2
